It has been a chilly one so far but don’t let that deter you getting out and about. Going for a play in the park or woods can be refreshing as long as you are wrapped up!
If you are looking for something warmer to do then why not visit a show, museum or indoor play centre... there are plenty to choose from.
Here are a couple of our favourite’s things to do in January...
Hertford Museum – Hertfordshire - Free Would you and your toddler like to try out some new resources at Hertford Museum? NEW and FREE, our discovery bags are designed help you to explore our galleries in a more interactive way and encourage lively chatter! A trial session with refreshments will be held at the museum on 27th January at 10.30 and 11.30. Booking is essential. Become Explorers at the Natural History Museum – London - Free Throughout the year and free of charge! You can visit the Natural History Museum and take advantage of their Family Explorer Backpacks. Each backpack comes with an explorer hat and binoculars and is filled with explorer tools. You choose an activity instruction booklet and your little ones enjoy the adventure! Although the backpacks are free you will need to leave a refundable deposit. Website
Ice Adventure – Somerset House London - Free Go on a frosty craft and song filled journey. For children under 5 and their families, with drama games, craft activities and storytelling. Collect your free ticket at 11.00 on the day from the Information Desk in the Seamen's Hall. Limited Spaces, tickets are allocated on a first come first served basis. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Sunday 9 January Website
Theatre show There are too many good shows to narrow down this month and so I will leave you to browse the list here...
London Wetland Centre For something different wrap up warm and visit the 42 hectare London Wetland Centre. Learn about the wildlife and explore the attractions including a bat house and observatory. There is also a special adventure area for children aged 3-11. Website
Electric Scream - Portobello Road London If you have a baby under a year and are yearning to get to the cinema visit The Electric Scream at the Electric Cinema in Portobello Road. Every Monday is Electric Scream, no baby no entry! All persons must be accompanied by a baby under 1 year old. Website
If you haven’t done so already enjoy some ice skating, there are a few rinks still open early January and Willows Farm have a special synthetic rink indoors so it truly is for tots!
